A new model railway year has begun, and in the Chinese calendre it is the year of the Horses, which is probably very descriptive of how the year looks
2025 went as it went. Like all our colleagues, we experienced that 2025 was a year of decline in revenue compared to 2024. Although we received more products than the year before, we went down by about 25% (!) in revenue (more factuel around 1.7 million kroner) – and we coudl feel it. There was a lot of stock in the warehouse, both physically, but also on a tight economy.
The nearly 2 months that have passed since new year, have shown a very positive outlook for the future – sales have picked up again, and I am very grateful for that. Especially since not only did our IBAB TMZ 1421 sell out in less than two days, but also that many of our stock items are starting to move, and our shelves are becoming thinner.
However, 2025 made room for preparing for 2026, as well as figuring out what to focus on in the years ahead. And a number of changes have already been made, some of which have happened and others will happen during the year. The very practical one is that we have reduced the number of pieces a little, and are running it closer to pre-orders.
One of the things that is happening is that we are going to assess how many fairs we participate in and where – to be honest, I don’t have many free weekends a year to have a private life. That is why I have decided to finally drop the Hobbymeess in Rødovre. In Denmark we participate in DMJU Model Train for all – and as you can see on our “meet us at” we are inviting you to “Model Train in the Province” on August 22 in Korsør at our place – but more details about this will follow later. We will though be more visible on the Europeans fair.
